Community is an essential part of Christianity. It is within communities that we experience what it means to be a part of God's family, to be held accountable, and to encourage and inspire growth in one another.
In Juarez, Life Challenge International works primarily in two communities: in the colonia
Carlos Chavira on the east side of Juarez, and at the Tapias, a community center located in the colonia Felipe Angeles on the west side of Juarez.
All communities are made up of broken people in need of the Savior, and redeemed lives are only possible through the transforming power of the Holy Spirit. The communities of Carlos Chavira and Felipe Angeles have both physical and spiritual needs
. Living in a perpetual state of need robs community members of their dignity - and that dignity can only be restored by affirming their true identities as children of God.
To this end, LCI works to share the truth of the Gospel on various fronts - from medical to athletic to educational to vocational programs - to meet these physical and spiritual needs. LCI desires to be a vessel of God's love and truth to the lost and hurting: as Jesus said, "If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free" (John 8:31-32).
